Dear Fellow ASEC members!

Our annual business meeting is currently scheduled for Friday November 19 at 6 pm during the annual national convention of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. However, because Covid remains a persistent challenge throughout the country, I have made the difficult decision that I will not be able to attend the ASEEES convention in person. I deeply regret this, but at this point I feel that it is the correct course of action.

Many of you, including several of our officers, are planning to attend in person, so the business meeting could continue as scheduled. However, if there is a strong sentiment among our ASEC membership that we should move to an online format, then we could take steps to transition our meeting to Zoom during the virtual portion of the convention.

Please feel free to share your thoughts with me or the other officers (Nadia Kizenko, Heather Bailey, Roy Robson, or Alice Sullivan). You can also express your views on the listserv by sending a message to asec at easternchristianity.org<mailto:asec at easternchristianity.org>.

Thank you so much for your participation in ASEC. I wish you all the very best during these trying times.

Eugene
