We hope that 2020 is off to a good start for you. It is that time of year when we send out a friendly note thanking you for your support of ASEC and asking you to pay your 2020 dues. Dues are $35 for regular members, $10 for students, and are waived for non-U.S. members. ASEC is accepting nominations for its Distinguished Scholar Prize. This award is for an outstanding English-language article-length publication on Eastern Christianity or on a society or societies influenced by Eastern Christian culture.  Articles published in 2018 and 2019 are eligible for consideration. The deadline for nominations is June 1, 2020. Self-nominations are also accepted. Please send your nomination including an electronic copy of the article to Nadieszda Kizenko (nkizenko at albany.edu<mailto:nkizenko at albany.edu>).



Planning is in the early stages for ASEC's 9th Biennial Conference to be held at ASU in early 2021. Watch for more details in the coming months. In the meantime, if you have suggestions or ideas about the conference, please send them to one of the officers.
