Dear Eugene,

I hope you are well. Please forgive me for not being more active in the past year. I have been reassigned to the parish in New York City, where our church here burned down on Easter of the last year. But, I wish to pay my membership. If you would be kind to guide me on how to do this, I would very much appreciate it.

Best,

Zivojin

Subject: [Asec] ASEC 7th Biennial Conference 9-11 March in Miami University, Oxford, OH

The Association for the Study of Eastern Christian History and Culture, Inc. (ASEC) announces its seventh biennial conference to be held at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, March 10-11, 2017 (with a pre-conference reception on March 9). The theme is Eastern Christianity, Reformations, and Revolutions, in honor of the five-hundredth anniversary of the Protestant Reformation and the one-hundredth anniversary of the Russian Revolution. For more information, see http://easternchristianity.org.

Two important deadlines are fast approaching. After 1 February, the registration fee rises to $75. Reservations at the Marcum Center should be made by 9 February to get the conference rate.

REGISTRATION: Until 1 February, the registration fee is $50; after that date, the fee rises to $75; graduate students have a reduced registration fee of $25. Download the registration form here: ASEC Conf Registration2017<http://easternchristianity.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/ASEC-Conf-Registration2017.docx>. Complete and mail the form with a check for the appropriate amount made out to ASEC, Inc, to Professor Christopher Johnson, University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac, 400 University Dr., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.

LODGING: Accommodation is booked at the Marcum Center<http://miamioh.edu/hdrbs/marcum/> on campus. Call 513-529-6911 to make reservations and ask for "Havighurst Center Conference" rooms before February 9, 2017. Unfortunately rooms are rather expensive for Friday and Saturday nights ($195 for King Single), less for Thursday ($112). There are a limited number of double rooms, which we particularly encourage graduate students to book (we can help to coordinate). There are a few other hotels in Oxford (The Elms, the Hampton Inn, Best Western, and the Baymont Inn & Suites if you have a car). There are also some possibilities through Airbnb.

TRAVEL: For those flying, the university is a bit over an hour drive from either Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) or Dayton (DAY), so it is worth checking flights to both because prices do vary. There are shuttle services that will take one back and forth from the airport. Hopefully we can coordinate so that if groups of people are arriving around the same time, they can ride together. Feel free to discuss any travel questions with Scott Kenworthy (kenwors at miamioh.edu<mailto:kenwors at miamioh.edu>) and send your travel plans to him if you wish assistance getting to Oxford from the airport.

SCHEDULE: The conference opens with a reception on the evening of Thursday 9 March. The first panel begins at 8:30 AM on Friday, and the last panel ends at 6:45 PM on Saturday. The conference closes with a banquet scheduled for 7 PM, shortly after the final panel. All sessions are plenary.

For more information on the conference and its venue, contact Scott Kenworthy (kenwors at miamioh.edu<mailto:kenwors at miamioh.edu>).
